An Ordinance to amend the Merchant Shipping
Ordinances, 1899 to 1913.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-

1. 2.-(1.) (b) three pilots holding licences under the Pilots Ordinance

(c) a certificated engineer; and
(d) an engineer (1) holding a certificate of com- petency issued by the Harbour Master under Table E and (ii) approved by the Harbour Master for engagement as a second engineer on board such steamships as are referred to in this section:
Provided that if the steamship is of less than 100 nominal horse power a second engineer shall not be required.
(2) This section shall continue in force during the continuance of the present war and thereafter until such time as may be appointed by order of the Governor in Conmeil.
